Warrior of Light

Rosa'harrio Shikhu

The Warrior of Light and a member of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn. A master of all physical ranged classes. Having just saved the whole of Etheirys, she’s currently taking the time to find herself. And perhaps even sneak off to the Island that she’d been gifted by Tataru.

Relationships

Alisaie: Sees her as a younger sibling, and loves to spend time with her. Alisaie can be quite over-protective of her, however, and anytime she thinks someone is trying to make a move on Rosa she gets snippy. Many men and women have fallen prey to her tongue lashings.
Alphinaud: Sees him as a younger brother. She admires his strength and fortitude, and often goes to him for advice.
Thancred: A close ally. She goes to him for advice regarding combat, and regards him as an incredible person despite what he might think.
Urianger: She admires his mental fortitude and the lengths he’d go to protect his loved ones and allies. She wishes he wouldn’t keep secrets, but understands where he comes from.
Tataru: She loves her as a best friend and a close confidant. If she’s ever in trouble, she knows Tataru is the one to go to. Although sometimes she sees the glint in her eyes and feels an ounce of fear.
G’raha Tia: Sees him as an inspiration, and also a very good friend. She wishes he would be a bit more relaxed around her, she’s nothing special after all, but she loves how passionate he is.
Estinien: She didn’t care much for him at first, butting heads with him more often than not during her time in Ishgard. But once he joined their adventure to stop the Final Days, she found herself drawn to him more and more. He also seems to be keeping a close eye on her, especially in the aftermath of their time in Ultima Thule. They become good friends and allies, and she goes to him when looking for battle and life advice.
Emet-Selch/Hades: As a shard of Azem, she finds herself romantically drawn to him. There was a bit of an internal struggle at first, but eventually she knew the feelings were both hers and Asteria’s, so she embraced them fully. Killing him once was tough, seeing him again in Elpis was difficult, and watching him fade away for good sent a ripple through her heart that she wouldn’t easily recover from.
On the first, Emet-Selch was her first kiss, her first time. He teases her about it, but despite that is incredibly gentle with her the first time they sleep together. Afterwards, however, he lets loose (and she is all for it).
Koana: Rosa admittedly thought he was an oddball siscon at first. After getting to know him, she realized that he was incredibly intelligent and sweet and found herself drawn to him. After losing sight of herself after the Final Days, Koana helps her to figure everything out, slowly but sure. He helps her to realize just who 'Rosa' is without 'Warrior of Light' tacked onto her name.
Esteem: After the events of the bloody banquet, Rosa found herself losing hope and closing herself off from her allies. Stumbling upon Fray in the Brume, she begins to learn more and more about herself. Esteem becomes her closest confidant, an ally who tells her how it is without any bullshit and one who also cares more dearly for her than she can fathom. Come ShB, Esteem and Ardbert act as two sides of the coin that keep Rosa moving forward, but she also greatly doubts Rosa’s taste in men.

Backstory

Rosa’harrio Shikhu, then known by the surname Khiyee, was raised under the grand trees of the Central Shroud. Her father, a well-off merchant who dealt in weapons and daily goods, raised her and her sister to be proper ladies. She had traveled alongside her father on plenty of business trips, but she was never taken outside of the Shroud. At 15, she was engaged to Aubrant, the son of a fellow wealthy merchant. He was over a decade older than her, her father insisting that he would take great care of her as she grew older. Her and Aubrant grew incredibly close, but come her 18th birthday the path her father had carefully laid before her fell apart. She had always known there was something off with her mother. The woman never showed her any love or affection, instead dismissing her and focusing only on her younger sister. That’s fine; parents are bound to have a favorite. In reality her milk maid turned closest confidant, Rihma Shikhu, was her mother. Her father had slept with her, an unmarried man with promises of a loving future and the family they could raise together, only for his parents to arrange marriage with A’phena. Her mother was already pregnant at the time, but on the off chance she could sire a son, A’phena allowed her to carry the child to term under the condition that she could raise the child as her own. Upon the reveal that the child was a daughter, A’phena was quick to dismiss her, insisting her and husband should try for another as soon as possible.Unfortunately, their first and only child together was a girl. The birth of her only biological daughter, Aria, destroyed her uterus and made her unable to carry any more children to term. It devastated her at first; she longed for a son to care for her and her daughter in the later stages of life. When that could no longer come to fruition, she instead began plotting for the future. For the next twenty odd years, A’phena bided her time, raising Aria with all the love and affection she could muster after the dangerous pregnancy that came with her. Unable to bear a son, the pair decided that Aria would be the next family head. Of course the younger Miqo’te didn’t understand why; her sister was smart, charismatic, and filled with something she couldn’t quite identify. She would make the perfect heir. Yet her mother insisted that she would be the one to take charge of the family when her father had passed. On the eve of Rosa’harrio’s eighteenth Nameday, A’phena stepped forward and offered her an ultimatum. She could stay in the family and damn her mother, already aged and struggling with her tasks within the house, or she could leave the house and abandon the family name as she was nothing more than a bastard. It was a lot.Her mother, no, the woman who raised her, hated her. And with the knowledge of just who her sister was, Aria came to look down on her sister in disdain as well. ‘A bastard’ she’d mutter, taking her mother’s side. She always had an inkling, but to know that her real mother was right under her nose, and that there was so much time she lost with her broke her heart. It was an obvious choice, at least to her.So she left the mansion and family she had known, taking on her mother’s surname, unsure of where her feet would take her. Her father, of course, felt immense remorse for both Rosa and Rihma, and tried his best to mend the situation. Offering her a carriage filled with his best goods as a final olive branch, he kisses her brow and wishes her well as she ventures into the world.Rosa’harrio had never been more thankful for the years she spent silently shadowing her father. Her first destination upon leaving was Aubrant’s family home where she fully intended on breaking off their engagement. A young Elezen woman greeted her with warm smile, and it was then she knew why the man had yet to kiss her after all these years. His heart belonged to another. Yet she wasn’t sad, rather she couldn’t help but be relieved at it all. Aubrant was quick to usher her into his home, providing shelter with his love as she found her footing in Gridania. For the next few years she built a name for herself in the city. Helping with odd tasks and training alongside those in the archer’s guild. At 23 she is an established jack of all trades, a friend to the people of Gridania, but she’s also longing for more. One day as she wanders the grand woods of the Shroud, she finds herself stumbling upon the adventure of a lifetime, as well as the purpose she was desperately lacking. Yda and Papalymo welcome her with open arms, the woman finding herself especially drawn to Yda’s bright nature. They send her on a wild goose chase for what feels like an eternity, doing every odd task you could imagine, before finally introducing her to their leader and their organization. The Scions of the Seventh Dawn were quite the eclectic group. Yet Rosa felt perfectly at home with them. She was ushered to the background at first, having little combat experience outside of hunting. She trained on the sidelines, getting intimately familiar with Thancred as she learned about the harsher parts of the world. Time flew by, and eventually the Echo awoke within her and the days passed in a blur. She dashed across Eorzea, fighting Primals, Ascians, and Garleans alike alongside her allies. She loved many, cherishing her bonds and friends and memories like precious jewels. She also lost more than one could imagine. But it all made her who she is. And she wouldn’t trade the pain and the joy for anything in the world.
